Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
March 29th, 2009 by Miranda

Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the final poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors anywhere in the world. While playing online poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amt.. I think television can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The best players anywhere in the world could be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found participating in internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in high stakes omaha hi-low and texas hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
