Hold’em is simply about gamblers and position. All knowledgeable Texas Holdem enthusiasts agree that position in no cap Texas Holdem is critically significant. Playing your hole cards in late spot will be much more profitable than in early poker spot. This is because much more data is collected before acting.
e.g., I played in a $1-$2 no limit money round at a local poker room. I limped in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier button, so I could see some action. Flop arrived A-A-4. A gambler in early spot placed a $15 bet. 2 players fold and it was my turn. I should have folded, but his play appear to be a tiny bit odd. I read this guy as a weak-tight guy, and normally if he had the strongest hand he would simply check, so I called.
The turn arrived with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My opposer placed an additional wager of $20. I debated for a while, but took a chance to re-raise another $30thirty dollars over and above his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I take the chips.
Betting at last spot provides you an idea where you sit by observing how other enthusiasts react and bet. On the flip side, individuals at starting position could use their poker spot to check-raise the last positioned competitors and trap them later at the end. In Texas Hold’em, both ends, late and early must be played cautiously.
