Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker contender on the planet by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the adverse feedback from other people destroy his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial few years for Phil were a learning period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an undying love for poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
