Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the west in a wonderful game for early level players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the casino, not like most other poker games that players wager against other gamblers. By gambling against the dealer, beginner players don’t need to worry about any other, more skillful gamblers winning their money.
Another Pai Gow edge is the relatively slow game play, beginners are able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make quick choices.
It is also much simpler to play for a very long time with only a little amount of money seeing as, to not win, both of your hands needs to be under each of the casino’s hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is given seven cards face up and the house is dealt seven cards face down.
A 5 card hand and a 2 card hand have to be made from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
