Caribbean Poker Codes and Pointers
February 16th, 2026 by Miranda

Online poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of bamboozlement. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up before the dealer declares "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you need to either make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s amount is akin to your beginning bet, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your bet goes immediately to the casino. After the bet is the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, with a figure on par with the original wager. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays out chips equal to your initial bet and fixed expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
