Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
September 14th, 2021 by Miranda

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the last table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While betting on web poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly competes in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all-in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy in.

Playing for the min takes a majority of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total dollar value. I think television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best players in the world could be players you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and texas hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in cash rounds?
