October 31st, 2021 by Miranda

Online poker has become world famous recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous types on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the bank rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers acquire five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s amount is akin to your original bet, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes immediately to the casino. After the wager comes the conclusion. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, with a figure in accordance with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The dealer pays chips equal to your bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
