NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
December 21st, 2022 by Miranda

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup whatever he could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from other people kill his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.

Phil started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning experience and coming away with a win was not a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an eternal love for the game of poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Even though Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
